Abstract: The possibility of enriching up-to-date libraries educational functions through the organization of citizens information training. The concept of personal information culture development is con-sidered. An algorithm for adapting the training programme of the course «Basics of Personal Information Culture» to library specificity is proposed. The potential for adaptation as an interdisciplinary research area, ensuring adoption of innovative technologies in the work of libraries is revealed.
