Abstract: On the general characteristic of National library of the Czech Republic (NL CR). The place of the Library in the country library system, directions of activity, basic quantity indicators and participation in the international projects are specified in the article. Programs of digitization of NL CR cultural heritage, the Slavonic library collections and publishing activities of NL CR are described in more detail.
