Role of District and Rural Libraries in Development of Culture of Mari Village in the Postwar Period (1946–1965)

Abstract: The activity of regional and rural libraries in the postwar period, the acquisition of libraries with new literature, the expansion of library net, the increase in the quantity of readers, different forms of mass work, library service for women — members of the collective farms are describes in the article. Particular importance author attaches to various forms of attracting readers to the libraries, which were used by many regional and rural libraries: the organization of mobile libraries, mobile library assistance, house-to-house rounds.
