Here you can:

• access the items stocked by the department and retrieve any number of items from the depository (dissertations defended from 1945 to 2009) on a daily basis
• leave up to 3 dissertations on hold for a period up to 3 days;
• extend hold period for up to 10 days total (tel.: +7 (495) 570-05-55)
• access the Digital Catalogue of RSL, card catalogues and indexes for the information on items in stock
• refer to a bibliograpfer for operational advice on search and selection of sources, details and facts related to an item and subject-related selection of items
• to access items on displays
• use library computers and software to access the web-site of RSL and its resources, including digital library and Digital Catalogue
• make inquiries on the opening hours of the reading room and forthcoming events
• on approval of administrative personnel to bring and use unplugged devices with sounds and options for copying switched off, such as laptops, voice recorders, audio players, audio and video devices (except CD and DVD players)
• plug personal lap-tops and palm computers into dedicated sockets
• receive a reader card for a one-off access to the digital library of dissertations and Digital Catalogue (on the basis of a valid ID)

Fee-based:

• have items copied in accordance with 'The RSL Rule for providing copying, micro-copying and scanning services'
• request express selection of dissertations
• retrieve dedicated bibliographic and factual references and/or subject-related selection of sources based on the referential and bibliographic apparatus of RSL, in case a patron would like to outsource use of catalogues, reference and bibliographic sources
• access the Web, licensed databases and digital copies of publications available from the IP-addresses of RSL according to license agreements
