Here you can:

• access items stocked by the department (copies are provided instead of originals when available)
• access the Digital Catalogue of RSL, card catalogues and indexes of the department for the information on the stock of the department
• refer to a bibliograpfer for operational advice on search and selection of sources, details and facts related to an item and subject-related selection of items
• access items on themed displays and displays for recent acquisitions
• inquire on the opening hours of RSL and the reading room and forthcoming events
• attend educational public events organised by the department: concerts, meetings with composers, musical editors etc.
• on approval of administrative personnel to bring and use unplugged devices with sounds switched off, such as laptops, voice recorders, audio players, audio and video devices (except CD and DVD players)
• bring in musical instruments (in cases)
• use library computers and software to access the web-site of RSL and its resources, including digital library and Digital Catalogue
• have access to an acoustic piano in a dedicated room and to electronic pianos with ear-phones in the reading room
• recharge personal lap-tops and palm computers through dedicated sockets

Fee-based:

• have items copied in accordance with the Law on Copyright and 'The RSL Rule for providing copying, micro-copying and scanning services'
• retrieve dedicated bibliographic and factual references and/or subject-related selection of sources based on the referential and bibliographic apparatus of music deaprtment, in case a patron would like to outsource use of catalogues, reference and bibliographic sources
• use library computers to work with personal files and print out the items found
• access the Web, licensed databases and digital copies of publications available from the IP-addresses of RSL according to license agreements
